We had a very nice Thanksgiving. We started our day with breakfast at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Then we went to The Depot in Minneapolis to go ice skating. (Parker kept asking on the way there "why is it taking so long to get to Home Depot?") I was not too excited about ice skating, but Justin forced me to try, claiming that it's easier than rollerblading. It was a huge success! Grandpa and Grandma were there cheering us on. Parker did very well skating and did even better after he watched his mom fall flat on her face! Our little perfectionist (where did this come from?!) has been struggling with ice skating, since it is the first thing that hasn't come easy to him in his three short years. He gets frustrated and lays on the ice eating the snow off of his gloves.
After a much needed nap, we went to Papa and Nana's house where Drew, Kristi and Sophia joined us and we all had a turkey dinner. Parker enjoyed eating the turkey cookies that he made with Nana the weekend earlier. Sophia and Parker had a great time playing together and "hiding" in the closet with flashlights. The adults all took turns "finding" them in their hiding spot. Fortunately Papa had TWO flashlights, or it would have gotten ugly! We are looking forward to Christmas, as they will really get into it this year.
