7-26-09. Parker wants daddy to shave his legs because they are scratchy when they rock together. Parker started crying when Justin said boys don't shave their legs.
7-20-09. "You're not my mom any more!"
6-16-09. Parker saw an African-American man today and said "Look, it's Gordon"--As in Gordon from Sesame Street!!!
6-16-09 Parker kicked mom out of room again, looked guilty and quickly said "that was a love kick".
6-17-09. Parker took a big poop in the potty chair and wanted to save it to show Daddy after work. It was stinky so we had to flush it. Parker stuck his head down and said "goodbye poopy. I'll tell Daddy about you!"
7-12-09. You woke up on your birthday, came in our room and asked "Am I still 2?". When I said "No, you are 3 today. ". You were so excited, you have been waiting and waiting for this special day.
8-26-09. Dad saw an eyelash on your cheek and held it up and told you to make a wish. You said "Daddy I wish you didn't have to go to work. I miss you. "
8-28-09 You are making it difficult for Daddy to go to work. This morning was a Daddy and Parker morning and you begged him not to go to work. Fortunately he is off tomorrow and we will have a Dad, Mom and Parker Day.
8-28-09. You have started telling knock knock jokes. Your favorite is the "banana/orange you glad I didn't say banana" one.
9-1-09. You learned to pedal a "bike" (trike) this summer. You were easily frustrated and didn't want to try, then one day in mid-August, you said, "I'm going to ride a bike today." Of course you picked it up quickly!
9-4-09. Today at grandma's with the daycare kids, you were playing with baby Noelle and asked Claire (also 3 years old) "would it be okay if we shared your baby sister so she can be my sister, too?" When Claire didn't answer, you said "Claire, what is your answer?"
9-10-09. You are so excited to start soccer. You told daddy and mommy that you were "going to run all the bases at soccer."
9-19-09. We went to Duluth for the North Shore Inline Marathon and stayed at The Edge waterpark hotel with Greta's family. You and daddy went down the waterslides many many times, you both loved it so much! You stayed with Nora and Greta while mom and dad rollerbladed on Saturday morning, both did well. After that we went to Canal Park and saw the lighthouse and the lift bridge and saw a huge ship come in. You also enjoyed feeding the seagulls, skipping rocks and climbing on the rocks along Lake Superior. You said the waterslides were your favorite part.
9-09. "My friends (cousins) live on a dot in the middle of the erf (Earth). " --(referring to your cousins who live in Hawaii)
10-14-09. We noticed that one of your front teeth is grey. We think it happened when you fell at your first Fun Run when dad ran a 5K. You are so tough, you even finished the race with a bloody lip!
10-21-09. Went to Nickelodion Universe to celebrate your full piggy bank! You have been earning pennies by making good choices at home. You earn pennies for things like staying in your bed, using manners, putting clothes in laundry basket, brushing teeth.
10-22-09. Listening to Little Dr. Seuss rhyming in his bed. You were telling Froggy: "Bat and Cat rhyme!". You are very into rhyming words right now.
10-09. You are going to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween this year. We went to the Toy Story 1 and 2 double feature in the theatre and you sat through the whole thing!!! Now you ARE Buzz! You want us to call you Buzz and you like to shout "To infinity and beyond"--especially in public. Good thing you are so darn cute! We got the gloves and blow up wings to go with the costume. You have had a lot of fun playing.
10-09. You are playing soccer for the first time. It has been so cold and rainy it has been miserable! You can run fast and keep up with the older kids on your team, but you seem to back off when you get near the ball. You really enjoy running alongside other kids. You would run and chase all day if you could!
10-22-09. You got yourself dressed this morning! You like to wear your underwear backwards so you can SEE Buzz Lightyear!!!
10-28-09. You told us grandma gave you rootbeer for lunch today! Not the case, it was chocolate milk!
10-31-09. You asked mom this morning with concern "Mom, where is your penis?" I explained that girls have vaginas. Then you asked how girls go potty. After I answered that one, you looked at me with sympathy, and said "that's okay mom, you have a bagina".
10-31-09. You woke up today (halloween) and decided that you were going to be a firefighter....again. You wore that costume LAST year! What about the money we spent on your Buzz Lightyear costume that you were so excited about? Then all of a sudden you decide to be a firefighter?! Dad and mom knew it wasn't worth discussing, you had made up your mind. It worked out well because ot was so cold you wore you winter coat under your costume. Nana and Papa came over to see you before you went out trick or treating and brought you a present. Then mom and dad went to a party and we stopped over at grandma and grandpa's house to trick or treat. They also gave you a present! You got to sleep over at their house while mom and dad went to a party. Mom used your tools and worker guy hat and papa's tool belt to be a worker guy. Dad wore your pirate hat, earring, and eye patch to be a pirate. We had grandma take pictures of us.
11-6-09. Parker quote: "You aren't my mom any more. You're a stupid mom." Stupid--where did you learn this word?
11-10-09. Tonight dad was talking with you about something you weren't supposed to do. You interrupted him and said "I like your shirt dad" to change the subject. It was a dirty old work shirt that had stains all over it!!!
11-12-09. Found out tonight that "code yellow" at Target means run away child. You ran away from mom because she said you needed to get into the cart because you were not listening to her. It took MANY employees to find you and round you up. On teenage boy said to mom "he's a runner. " You had a tantrum after that because mom said you were leaving and you wanted your free cookie! In the car on the way home, you got upset because we didn't buy the fruits and vegetables we went to get. You said "now my poopy will be hard to get out if I don't eat fruits and vegetables. "
11-19-09. "The indians and the pilgrims came over on the Flower Boat and they landed at the Rock place in the United States of America"
1-8-10. "Is that what I wore when God married me?" asked Parker when he saw his baptism outfit in the closet today.
1-8-10. "Here comes the son of Carol" said Parker as Justin drove up to the house.
